Computer Training classes
About
The SHCC are currently looking at developing a Computer Project aimed at promoting stability and sustainability at the SHCC and for the families living within the Kro Bei Riel Community. The idea of this project is to educate the rural community in computer usage. This will be achieved by selecting 240 students from the 12 villages within Kro Bei Riel Community to teach computing skills, thus empowering them to pass the knowledge they have gained onto their families and the wider Community. In the future more students will be brought onto the project when the resources of the centre can accommodate them.
The project aims to encourage students to implement all they have learnt and thus hopefully providing students with income to put towards their future studies. The underlying purpose of this project is to establish a method of addressing the issues of poverty, lack of funding and education in rural Cambodia.
Through the provision of a Computer Project at the school and within the community, the SHCC expect the following to be achieved;

Assist the children in developing their computing skills

Provide continual education on computer skills at the school, through skilled staff, allowing for future opportunities for the SHCC students who aspire to become computer teachers or find work utilising computing skills acquired

To provide an income for those who are financially disadvantaged and cannot afford higher education
The SHCC believe this is achievable as they have built a strong reputation within the community due to their resilience in the face of adversity. The SHCC has a strong vision and the knowledge to achieve a sustainable community. At present they lack the funding for the resources required.
Sponsor
The SHCC needs funding for the following resources;
- Teachers salaries
- Computers
- Administration costs (power, internet costs)
- Computer maintenance (updated anti-virus software, Microsoft Office etc.)
- Class resources (books, desks/chairs)
